During the month of December, you might find yourself caught up in the hustle and bustle of gift buying for family and friends. After all, it is the season of giving. There is one important member of your family you shouldn’t forget this season, your furry friends! This holiday can be all about spoiling your pets, but it’s also a great time to update your pet’s bedding, toys and treat selection.
Update Your Pet’s Belongings
Christmas is a great time to spoil your pets, but it’s also the perfect time to update your pet's necessities. Updating your pet’s belongings is not only fun to pick out, but it’s essential to keep them healthy and clean. Start with bedding, like blankets they use, or plush beds, or pads in crates. Buying new items replaces the old ones they may have, and gives them a nice fresh start for the new year. Some bedding and crate pads come with removable zipper covers that you can throw in the wash. Buying these means you won’t have to replace them every year, and you can give them a fresh place to relax throughout the year. With normal wear and tear, your pet’s stuff can see a lot of use. That being said, it’s a good idea to update your pet’s belongings at least once a year to keep them clean and healthy.
For those of us who can’t help but spoil our pets, stockings for your pup or cat is a great idea! Stockings are perfect for small stuffers like treats and toys. During the holidays, stores are putting out Christmas themed treats, which makes treat time just that more festive. Other stocking stuffers can include new toys. For those pups that really like to tear apart their favorite toys, Christmas is the perfect time to replace old and tattered toys. Another idea for stocking stuffers are holiday collars and leashes, or even a Christmas shirt or sweater. Stuff their stocking this season with their favorite treats, and mix in some new ones as well. Replace old toys and update their style with new collars, leashes, and maybe a Christmas sweater or two.
Cold Weather Essentials
While it doesn’t get cold here in Phoenix very often, the temps during our morning walks can be a bit cold and if we’re traveling north with our pets we can run into some colder weather. This makes winter time the best time to buy cold weather accessories. This includes booties for snow and warm coat harnesses that will keep them warm on walks.
Christmas is almost here and our pets can get in on the fun this year! Surprise them with a few of their favorite treats and toys, but throw into the mix a few things they actually need. If you have any questions about gift giving to your pets this year call us at 602-559-5500.
